Mental Health Permitting

Hello!!!!

It’s been ages. I can’t even begin to tell you about the rollercoaster I’ve been on; up and down and all around. I am back in Wyoming (Yay!!). The house has still not sold (Boo!). I’m just having a lot of feelings, and I don’t know how to deal.

I’m grateful to be home for the moment, and it’s a better situation than I was in by far. I’m just drifting. I have a lot of places to go and things I want to do with my life, and while I’m no longer trapped living with an abusive person, I’m not exactly free either. Also, I miss my animals.

So, I have a lot of days where I just don’t even want to get out of bed. I find my job, friends, and family overwhelming, because I’m depressed and have been isolated on an island for the last five years with only Juruseh and the animals for company. I’m trying, but let’s face it, sometimes being human is hard. I just have to accept that I’m going to struggle for a bit here, and that’s that.

I’m forcing myself to try to keep up my writing. So far, nothing on the second Abney Kelly book, but I’ve managed a few journal pages. It’s a start. On Abney Kelly book one, I do have some exciting news. Illustrations are done! Cover design is in progress! Formatting is scheduled! Assuming we all survive the great toilet-paper shortage of 2020, we are on schedule for the 10/09/2020 release date. Hopefully, my house will sell so that I can afford to do a few promotions.

I’m trying to get back in the reading habit too. That’s the first thing that goes when I get down in the dumps, probably because it’s what I love the most…le sigh.

Anyway, that is all I have for now. Mental health-permitting, you will be hearing from me more as I try to get my poop in a group. If you don’t, assume I’m huddled under my blankets, sobbing, and will be getting back to you as soon as that has subsided. Your patience in advance is much appreciated.

XOXO,

SamiJo

P.S. Here’s a little teaser of the illustrations!
