Nutcracked

So, I tried to see the Nutcracker two days in a row. Both times they messed up the movie times. I even showed them on their app where it said there was a showing, and they were like, well…sorry about your luck. I’ve never had this happen in my entire life, and now it’s happened two days in a row. It’s all I wanted for my birthday. I’m going to try again on Saturday. I’m going to see that movie, come hell or high water. I know, I know, first world problems.
Exciting news! I’m getting the Owl Canyon piece down right under the wire! Go me! Nothing like putting something off till the last minute to get those creative juices flowing. It turned out a lot darker than I thought, but what can I say? I try to write outlines and stick to them, but it never works. It always goes in some other weird direction. I’m happy with it though. It’s interesting, and I hope unique.
I’ve decided that New Years should coincide with your birthday. Screw the calendar year. On your birthday, it’s a new year for you. Why not make your resolutions on your birthday? I made mine. What I want for my 31st year of living:
   1.  I will stop hiding from the mirror
   2.  I will foster a healthy relationship with myself
   3.  I will write the second Abney Kelly book
   4.  I will finish my Underwater Trains Novella
   5.  I will move to Houston
   6.  I will create a strong platform as an author
   7.  I will read four books a month
   8.  I will go out into the world more
   9.  I will face obstacles without becoming overwhelmed by them
  10. I will learn to respect myself and my boundaries
  11. The only romantic relationship I will have is with myself
  12. I will honor myself above all others

Now, we just have to see how well I stick to it. I did pretty well with my resolutions last year, I mean I wrote a whole book. So, I just have to keep myself on track. Naturally, some will be easier than others. Fingers crossed. Anyway, must be going. The chickens are eating the dog’s food because I haven’t been out with their breakfast yet.
